I remembered visiting years ago and made sure Fife's was the first stop from the airport! Friendly and attentive service. Great southern cooking! Heaping portions! Recommend especially if you have plans to be in the Downtown Birmingham area! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

My sister and I are in town for the Jazz Festival and were looking for a breakfast spot within walking distance of our hotel. A quick Google search led us to Fife's and I'm so glad it did! Ohmigoodness, they were so good! We had cheese grits, eggs, a cheese omelette, beef sausage, hash browns, pancakes, biscuits and toast between the 2 of us and EVERYTHING was delicious! Our waitress was great and service was, too. Even though they were pretty busy our food still came out in a reasonable amount of time. Should we ever come back to Birmingham we will definitely be revisiting Fife's!!!

One of, if not the favorite restaurant in Birmingham! If you are even remotely interested in home cooked country meals like grandma and mom make, then this restaurant is a must try. Every single item is prepared old school style with awesome flavor. We live in Florida and have considered moving for a quality restaurant like this. Birmingham is very lucky to have an iconic go to like this. We eat here every single chance we get.

Had a awesome experience in this place with my kids. The food arrives quick and the service is just great. Prices are convenient.

Great food. I went for breakfast and ordered the smoked sausage meal with pancakes. They were wonderful. I enjoyed all the food I ordered except for the hashbrowns. I believe they need a different type of hashbrown.

Simple and delicious . Nothing fancy here, just really good food and very nice people. Come hungry, it was too much food for me, and what you see here was less than $12!

The Breakfast portions are humongous, and they do it well. This place is a landmark staple of historical must visit places. Highly recommended when you are visiting Downtown Metropolitan Birmingham. Great job Fifth.

Here on a Saturday for lunch. Food was decent. Staff was friendly. Cafeteria style service was slow.

The food was great and so was the service. I had the hamburger steak, mashed potatoes, and banana pudding and a roll. It was delicious I rate them 5 stars definitely and I will eat there again.

This spot is good! Reasonable rates, large dishes and the staff are regularly very welcoming.

One of downtown Birmingham's places to eat if you like delicious cooked to order breakfast! Also a meat and three place too! Always have had great service and good food!! Check it out if you're in the downtown area!

This food is smackable. Sooooo good.

No waiting at 4:30. Large servings of great food! Fried trout very good! Ate more than a normal person should. Great service! Fair price! Definitely reccomend. 😀👍

Fife"s is one of the best 'Greasy Spoon Joints" this miserable city has. Food is always the best home style country cooking you could ask for. . Larger than most food portions, friendly staff, one of my favorite breakfast holes in town.

Down home soul food restaurant serving the downtown area for years. Steam table line. Large variety of meats and veggies, several deserts. Large portions. Very friendly and efficient staff, moderately priced, casual atmosphere. Handicapped accessible. Very tight parking lot.

I love this place. Everything is cooked fresh right in front of you and is really good! There is always a lot of people so the only down side is there is sometimes a little wait(10-15 minutes) but it's worth it.

Fifes is too traditional. Switch it up every once and a while. Its still fifes doe. Gud as hell!

Best in town good home cooked food

I tried Fife's based on Google reviews. The restaurant setup is simple but welcoming. Linda, our waitress, was courteous. The food portions were large, hot, and delicious. Also, it was cheaper that any franchise resraurant for the amount of food. I would love to go back and try lunch/dinner when we visit the area again.

Best meat & three in town. Talking down home soul food-turnips, black eyed peas, fried okra, mashed potatoes, fried green tomatoes, corn, cabbage, etc.--with cornbread and all the sweet tea you want. Place is huge, plenty of space to take a party of folks or sit in the back and eat alone. I've tried all the meat & 3s in town and Fife's is the best, hands down.

An iconic breakfast joint in my hometown city of Birmingham😊. Go by Fife's any day of the week in the morning, and you will find an absolutely packed parking lot. Great food, & a cool historic location.

The service was good and the food was delicious this place has comfort foods that let you know your in the south. If you've never been I would suggest Fifes!! Good food. Good people.

Good old cooking watch you looking for and plenty of it

The restaurant is missing the ambience. If you need a quick bite that's missing flavors, this is the place to be. I was billed twice by the person at the counter and later realized that she's done a mistake. I didn't get it fixed as I didn't have the time....

The food is good depending on what you pick. But I don't understand why the ones that fix the plates put out a tip cup.

Food was cold. I was very disappointed to see a place with 4.3 stars serve cold food. I am literally sitting at the table as I write this review starving because they have no fried chicken to replace the cold chicken they gave me and the okra was even colder than the chicken. The waitress was nice.

The food is delicious buffet style and is very inexpensive. The staff is extremely courteous and polite. If you go here to eat at certain times of the day, they'll be quite busy. And the reason for them being quite busy is because the food is second to none. Fife's is a MUST to experience.

I regularly stop purchasing some food in here. I enjoy the quick customer service and well prepared dishes. They never disappoint.
